Long day today! The family is in Chicago for a week and my wife left a massive "to do" list including laying wood floors in hallways with many doors. Add to that the yard, the 93 degree heat, dogs, son, I did not have any hope of photo work but on a store run in the eve I noticed a Cruise Inn kicking in down the street and just had to get out the camera.

The shooting is only part of the process for me as each image I post is handcrafted, each shot is different and worked to best display that moment as I saw it.  After several steps in the processing stage for each image they have to be added  to both my Website and Ecommerce folder, two different entities and processes altogether.  The Ecommerce half is fairly easy once I have copies of the final master images sized down for web display, but the web is all managed in notepad and XML.  Although my Website is Dynamic Flash, in that I can upload just the stuff I updated, when building things out/adding/changing I am dealing with over 16,000 lines of code right now- its not as hard as it may seem but still very painstaking when layered on top of the shooting and processing all in one day.  When I shoot the big bike events - to pay for the trip, gas, WalMart water and bologna sandwiches in the cooler for breakfast lunch and dinner - I leave calling cards on the bikes letting them know I shot their bike, directing them to my web and usually make some decent sales.  I put up a welcome photo (it's up now for biketoberfest) letting them know that it may be a few days before the image is posted but am all the while working to get them up asap!  If I leave a card in the morning odds are (tracking indicates) that they will visit the site that night!!  Knowing this I work early into the next morning of an event shoot getting the best of the best on-line.  I forgot to mention my drive time to Daytona 2 hours down and 2 back each day... back to the point of this post... I thought tonight would be a good warm-up for next weekend, tired and hot all day to go out and shoot, process and post a small set on-line, the entire process beginning to end.  Oh and I had a second wind to talk about it and add this post!
