Only four PF Coupes were ever built for Rome Dealer, Guglielmo Dei, The four coupes were numbered 2056, 2057, 2059 and 2060. The 2060 was the 1955 Paris Salon car, number 2089 (this car) was an A6GCS spyder. It raced in the 1955 Mille Miglia, finishing 4th overall and first in class. It also ran the Targa Florio and place 5th overall. Number 2089 was crashed in 1959 and was repaired by Maserati where they placed the original 2060 coupe body on chassis 2089.

With a rich racing history Maserati racers won the Indy 500 back to back in 1939 and 1940, the only Italian manufacturer to ever do so.
