1930 Packard Open Touring Phaeton

Packard was an American luxury automobile marque built by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, MI. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899.

The company was commonly referred to as being one of the “Three P’s” pf American motordom royalty, along with Pierce Arrow and Peerless.

Entering the 1930s, Packard attempted to beat the stock market crash and Great Depression by manufacturing ever more opulent and expensive cars than it had prior to Oct 1929.

In 1931, 10 Packard’s were owned by Japan’s royal family and between 1924 and 1930 it was also the top selling luxury brand.
