The disappearing top roadster is one of the enduring deigns created by the Walter M. Murphy Co. of Pasadena, CA.

This car was originally delivered to Duesenberg's Los Angeles branch in 1930. It remained unsold for some time. It was then transferred to the New York branch. The Model T Ford sold for $300 while this car sold for $9,000. Hollywood stars including Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Howard Hughes and J. Paul Getty were among the owners of J Model Duesenbergs.

The car is powered by double-overhead-cam supercharged 420 cu. in straight-eight engine developing 320 horsepower coupled to a 3-speed transmission making it capable of 150 mph. It is also able to go 0-100 mph in 17 seconds.
